![]() What does Success feel like? I am passionate about helping people achieve Success in their life. For every person you speak to they will each have a slightly different definition of what Success is. What is yours? What is most important for you to achieve in your life? Money? Status? Love? Security? Friendships? For many success is being able to work when they want, how they want and with whom they want. The ability to earn whatever they need and to have an excess of income over expenditure. Yet few have achieved these heady heights. How are you doing?
After all it is only through having money that we are able to buy what we need. Success is generally thought of as having enough money to not only buy what we need - pay the bills, eat well, cover the mortgage etc but also to buy what perhaps we don't really need but simply want. To be able to enjoy the luxuries of life without having to feel guilty that we will have to scrimp next month to make up for our extravagance this month.
Yet some perceive money as the root of all evil. What are your thoughts? Is money simply a means to an end and it is not money per Se that is bad it is what some people choose to do to get it; or what they do with it when they have it. If a person won the lottery and spent half of their winnings setting up a facility for people with cancer, to support them through this difficult time in their lives, and make their passing as comfortable as possible. Most, I believe, would consider this a selfless act and one worthy of praise. The point here is that success is subjective. What one person may consider an incredible achievement, another may view as worthless. Does this matter? well that all depends on your perspective. Do you judge your life by what others think? or do you determine your worth by your own inner set of values? Many people hold themselves back from achieving in their life for fear of what others might think; what someone might say about them. One thing is common, many who have dared to dream and stuck their head above the parapet striving to do something they consider worthwhile; have been struck down, criticised, vilified even by others who believe they are wrong to even try. It is not uncommon for people to resent those who are successful, those who have money, to consider that somehow they are lesser people because they have wealth. Where do you stand on this? Some of these issues are not easy. There are no rights and wrongs here. However, if you are working towards something, if you want perhaps to start out on your own and run a business then it will serve you to take a step back and consider where you stand on this issue. Be sure in your own mind why you are doing what you are. Are you happy to defend your position to others if it came to it? How strongly do you believe in what you are doing? If someone tells you that your idea won't work will you let it stop you? or will it drive you to work harder? So take a moment, if you will and consider the following... * How would you feel to be able to hold your head up high and say "I am successful?", "you said it couldn't be done, but I have done it" * How would you feel to be able to walk to work in just a few seconds? * What would it mean to you to have total freedom in your life? * What would it mean to be able to do what you want whenever you want? * How would it be to be able to attend every single event at your children's school - whether in the day or not? * What would it be like to wake up in the morning and log on and see you have made sales while you were asleep? * What would it be like to be able to pay every bill the day it arrives and not wait till the last minute? Sadly, people often have the misconception that those that are most successful do not have to work. That they have somehow found some "magic" formula that gives them cash whenever they need it. The reality is that to become successful work is required; a great deal of hard work. Persistence is needed and very often courage to; the courage to try something new, to give it a go; to break away from the "norm". I believe passionately that anyone can achieve anything they want - if, and here's the catch, they really want it. Many people will say they want something, desperately want to be successful but when it comes to putting in the effort to get the very thing they say they want, suddenly just about everything else seems more important. Why is this? What holds you back? FEAR is the single biggest factor that holds people back. Fear of the unknown Fear of what others will say Fear of failure Fear of being uncomfortable Do any of these apply to you? Now please consider what it would be like to look back on your life and wonder what if? to feel regret at opportunities missed? I'm guessing not good? Well you can put your fears aside, help is at hand. I have helped many people over many years overcome such fears and start achieving real success in their lives. Ideas that were once dreams have now become reality.
